Joel D. Feldman, Esq.

Of Counsel
Anapol Weiss
Joel Feldman is Of Counsel to the Philadelphia law firm of Anapol Weiss. He received his law degree from Villanova University in 1981.
Following the death of his daughter Casey by a distracted driver in 2009, most of Feldman’s professional activities have involved raising awareness about the dangers of distracted driving. He is the creator of EndDD.org, “End Distracted Driving,” speaks to various school, community and professional groups on that topic and has produced several PSAs that are used throughout the country in distracted driving presentations. Feldman has personally spoken with about 200,000 teens and adults since 2012, and has been the keynote speaker at a number of legal, medical, traffic safety and business conferences. He works regularly with traffic safety professionals and educators to bring distracted driving awareness programs to schools across the country. Through EndDD.org, Feldman manages a network of volunteer lawyer speakers across the country who have collectively spoken with about 500,000 teens, all without cost to schools.
Feldman’s current projects include the development of the first of their kind elementary school distracted driving lesson plans, for grades 2-3,4-5 and 6 and the recently released a K-2 distracted driving picture book. He is a member of the NTSB’s National Distracted Driving Coalition and chairs, or co-chairs, subcommittees charged with developing effective teen messages, promoting a national “Do Not Disturb While Driving Day” and developing resources for prosecution of distracted driving cases. The U.S. DOT/Volpe Engineering has published several studies finding the EndDD.org teen presentations are effective in changing attitudes and behaviors concerning distracted driving.
Feldman has written numerous articles about distracted driving, including those for Huffington Post.
In 2013, Feldman obtained his masters in counseling from Villanova University and worked at Penn Wissahickon Hospice providing grief counseling to patients and family members. Feldman frequently combines law and counseling and speaks to lawyers, as well as community groups, on topics relating to grief and loss and has written articles on improving the dialogue of loss, supporting those who have suffered the tragic loss of a loved one and empathic listening.
